1st quarter RSA meeting

Mid-Winter Greetings Everyone

We have scheduled Saturday, February 25, 2012, for the next meeting of our road service area and a District 1 meeting. We reserved the Moose Creek Community Center for this date. For new road users, the community center is located at the Moose Creek Transfer Site in the same building where you vote.

The District 1 meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM and will end at 4:00 PM. The District meeting includes all the service areas of our district. We will discuss mutual issues such as ARSAC(Assembly Road Service Area Committee) highlights, contractor information, recent Rural Services and Borough Assembly actions, funding, and receive input from RSA's that needs to be forwarded to the monthly ARSAC meeting. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting but the focus is for commissioners and their representatives. I am looking for agenda items for this meeting.

At 4:00 PM the borough Public Works Department will present the first public open house of our 2012 road improvement project. Jerry Kreofsky, Borough Engineer, will have pictures of the initial design of this project including projected costs. He will be available to answer questions and receive our input regarding the design. As you know, the project focuses on three main areas of improvement: equipment pull-outs, straightening the s-curve at Sebaugh/Sawmill Trail, and installing a school bus turn-around at the end of the service area. The commissioners encourage everyone to attend this presentation.

At 5:00 PM we will begin our road service meeting. Agenda items will include votes on the annual budget and retention of our contractor. We will also discuss the current budget/maintenance activities, weight restrictions, immediate maintenance needs, AAA site clean-up/hauling, road repairs from this activity, signage and other road issues. Please provide other agenda items to us at your earliest convenience that are appropriate to the repair and maintenance of 23 Mile Slough RSA. While the agenda may be lengthy, we hope to end by 7:00 PM. We look forward to seeing all of you.

Sincerely
Your Commissioners - Stu Davies, Ed Arobio, Irene Coben
